Just saw this article about Daikin's stock volume going up. I know they're big in HVAC, but they also make compressors that some folks use for their DIY projects. Anyone follow this stuff? Does this affect prices for us or just the shareholders?

I've seen a few Daikin compressors in high-end restoration jobs. They're solid units, but I never tracked their stock. If they're doing well, might mean they're expanding, but I doubt it'll drop prices for the average joe. Probably just makes the big wigs richer.

I just bought a cheap compressor from Harbor Freight, so I'm not in the Daikin league. But I did see that article - it said trading volume was like 300% above average or something. Must be due to some earnings report or new tech. I'm curious if they're coming out with something that'll make my oil-less compressor obsolete.

Ha, Tim! You and your Harbor Freight special. But seriously, I've used Daikin on commercial jobs - they're built like tanks. If their stock is up, maybe they're investing in R&D. Could mean new portable compressors that are quieter or more efficient. Wouldn't mind that for some indoor finishing work.
