Hey guys, just a reminder to always wear eye and ear protection when running an air compressor. I had a hose blow out on me last week and the noise was insane. Also safety glasses saved my eyes from flying debris. Stay safe out there!

Good tip Rick! I always use a quality full-face shield now after a brad nail ricocheted and hit my cheek. Also dont forget to check the air filter and drain the tank regularly. That moisture can cause rust issues.

Solid advice. For old compressors like the ones I restore, I recommend adding an inline oiler and water separator. Also, never use PVC pipe for air lines - it can shatter. Use copper or steel. PPE is your best friend!

Speaking of PPE, what respirator do you guys use when painting with a compressor? I've been using a 3M half-face with organic vapor cartridges but wondering if there's a better setup.

I use the same 3M setup with P100 filters for painting. Works well for me. Make sure you do a fit test though. No point if air leaks around the seal. Stay safe!
