Hey everyone, I stumbled across a Kobalt 60 gallon 2-stage compressor at my local Lowe's marked down to $350 (clearance). Looks like it's brand new in box. Is this a steal or should I pass? I'm a weekend warrior, mostly impact wrenches and maybe a spray gun.

Dude, $350 for a 60 gallon 2-stage? That's insane. Normally those go for like $800+. Even if it's Kobalt, that's a solid unit. Grabbing that would be a no-brainer for me. Just make sure you check the CFM ratings match your tools. My buddy has one and it's been running strong for years.

I'd snatch that up fast! I got a similar deal on a Husky last year and it's been a beast for my woodshop. One thing though - make sure it's not a floor model that's been abused. Check for dents, run it a bit if you can. But at that price, even if it needs a little TLC it's worth it.

Agreed with the others. That's a killer deal. But one thing to watch - Kobalt's warranty is usually only 1 year on compressors, whereas Ingersoll Rand or Quincy have longer. Still, for $350 you could almost treat it as a disposable. I'd buy it in a heartbeat and use the savings for a better regulator/filter setup.

Thanks everyone! I went back and grabbed it. It was brand new, still had the plastic on. Fired it up and it purrs like a kitten. Now I just need to wire a 220v outlet. Appreciate the push!
