Hey guys, I just saw a 60-gallon, 5 HP two-stage compressor for $800. Brand new, it's usually $1200. It's a stealth model, so it's quiet. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger but wanted some opinions. Is that a good deal for the price? I've been using a 20-gal for years, not sure if I need the upgrade.

That's a steal, Rick! I've got a similar one and it's been a beast. I use it for everything - sandblasting, running a DA sander, even spraying. At that price, you'd be crazy not to. Just make sure it has enough CFM for your tools. What are you planning to run off it?

Before you buy, check the tank integrity and the pump oil level. Also, make sure it's in a well-ventilated area. I've seen too many compressors overheat. And if it's used, test it out - fill it up and see how fast it cycles. But $800 for a new 60-gal is a solid deal. I'd say go for it, but double-check the warranty.

Rick, I just bought a similar one last month and it's been amazing. I use it for my impact wrench and air ratchets. The 60-gal tank means I don't have to wait for it to cycle as often. And the quiet factor is huge - I can actually have a conversation while it's running. Definitely worth the upgrade if you do a lot of work. Just watch out for the shipping weight - I threw my back out lifting mine off the truck. 😂
