Just read this article about IR stock lagging the industrial sector. I've got a few IR air compressors and they're workhorses, but anyone else see this as a sign to hold off on buying new tools? Or does the stock dip mean nothing for the tool quality? What's your take?

Tim, I wouldn't worry too much about stock prices affecting tool quality. IR is a huge company, they make stuff for many industries. A dip in stock can be due to lots of things - market trends, etc. My buddy works for a dealer and says they're still selling like crazy. But I did hear they might be focusing more on industrial sales, not home diy. That might affect what's on shelves.

Stock performance is about investor sentiment, not the quality of their compressors. I've been using IR for 30 years, never had a problem. If you're in the market, I'd say grab one while prices are good. I saw a nice discount at the local supply house last week. And remember, their tools are built to last, so even if they streamline, the old ones will still be running.

Good points, fellas. I guess I'm just cautious with money right now. But if what you're saying is right, maybe I'll pull the trigger on that 60-gallon model I've been eyeing. Prices might even drop further if the stock stays down. Thanks for the insight!
