Hey guys, I'm in the market for a new 1/2" impact wrench for busting lug nuts and suspension bolts. Can't decide between the DeWalt DCF900 and the Makita XWT08Z. Any advice? I've heard Makita has better torque but DeWalt is more durable.

I've used both on job sites. Makita XWT08Z is a beast for torque, but the DeWalt DCF900 is lighter and smaller. If you're doing overhead work, go DeWalt. For serious torque, Makita wins. I own the Makita and it's never let me down.

Not a pro but I've had my Makita for 3 years. Dropped it off a ladder twice and still going. My buddy has the DeWalt and it's powerful but the battery died faster. Go Makita for reliability imo.

I'm a contractor and I've seen DeWalt impact wrenches crap out after a year. My Makitas keep going. Also, Makita's brushless motor is smoother. But DeWalt's warranty is better if you register it. If you don't mind the extra weight, get the Makita.
