Hey guys, I'm looking to buy my first impact wrench for working on my old truck. I'm torn between the DeWalt DCF899 and the Makita XWT08Z. I don't want to spend a fortune, but I want something that'll last. Any advice?

I've had both! The Makita is a beast for rusted bolts, but the DeWalt is lighter and IMO easier to handle for long jobs. If you're just doing weekend stuff, go with the cheaper option. Makita's batteries are pricey!

Full-time contractor here. I use Makita every day. The XWT08Z has never let me down, even with heavy use. But if you're budget-conscious, stick with DeWalt and invest in good batteries. You'll be fine either way.

I'm an apprentice and I got the DeWalt on sale. It's been solid for lugnuts and suspension bolts. My buddy has the Makita and it's definitely more powerful, but honestly for most DIY stuff you won't notice the diff. Save your money.
