Hey all, just wanted to share a quick tip. Yesterday I was using my impact wrench to take off some lug nuts and a piece of rusted metal flew off and hit me right in the safety glasses. Glad I had them on - coulda been my eye! Always wear your PPE, even for quick jobs. The cheap ones work fine, just wear 'em.

Amen to that! I've been in the trade for 20+ years and I've seen guys lose eyesight over not wearing glasses. I never go near a grinder or impact without full face shield, not just glasses. Those things can throw chunks at high speed. Stay safe out there!

Good reminder. As a safety inspector, I've seen too many accidents. Quick tip: make sure your safety glasses are ANSI Z87.1 rated. And if they get scratched, replace them - scratched lenses can reduce visibility and cause accidents. Also, consider using a face shield with impact-rated glasses for heavy tasks.

Great advice, Carl and Dan. I'll check my glasses for that rating. I think they have it, but better to be sure. And yeah, face shield for the heavy stuff - I have one but I'm guilty of not using it all the time. Gonna start.
