Just spotted this deal on the Stalwart 12V Cordless Drill and Driver Set for $52 with free shipping. Seems like a decent price, but I'm not familiar with the brand. Anyone have experience with these? Is it worth grabbing for light DIY tasks?

I've used a Stalwart drill before. It's okay for occasional light duty, but don't expect pro-grade performance. The chuck tends to slip, and the battery life isn't great. For $52, it's fine if you need a spare or just for around the house, but I'd save up for something better if you plan on serious work.

I picked one up as a backup and it's surprisingly handy for the price. I've used it for assembling furniture and small repairs. It's not a powerhouse, but it gets the job done. Just be careful with the included bits; they're kinda cheap. I'd say it's a good deal for basic stuff.

I'll echo what Wendy said. These budget drills aren't made for heavy use. As a retired carpenter, I've seen too many of these fail under load. If you're just drilling a few holes in drywall or driving screws, you'll be fine, but don't push it. For $52, it's a steal if you need a beater tool, but I'd rather invest in a reputable brand.

I'm a woodworking hobbyist and I bought one of these on a whim. Honestly, it's weak for anything more than pilot holes in softwood. The battery dies fast, and the charger takes forever. But for that price, you can't complain much. I keep it in my kitchen drawer for quick fixes, and it works for that.
