Anyone else wear ear plugs when using a shop vac?

Just a friendly reminder to wear hearing protection when using any kind of vacuum for extended periods. I learned the hard way - ringing ears after a 2-hour detail session ain't fun. Even the quieter car vacs can get loud over time. Stay safe out there!

So true! I always throw on some foam plugs or my Bluetooth muffs when I'm running the shop vac. Also, don't forget a dust mask if you're cleaning up fine dust. My sinuses thank me later.

I use the DeWalt DWV010 HEPA vac with the quiet mode, but I still double up with plugs cause I'm paranoid about tinnitus. Plus, I've got a few pairs of the 3M Peltor muffs I cycle through. PPE is cheap, hearing ain't.

Dan, what's the noise level on that DeWalt? I'm looking for something under 70dB if possible. My Rigid is a jet engine on wheels.

It's rated at 68dB on quiet mode, but real-world it's more like 72. Still a lot better than most. I'd say it's worth the extra $ if you vac a lot. But yeah, still wear plugs lol.
