Hey all, finally got tired of sweeping crumbs out of my work van. Narrowed it down to the DeWalt DCV580 vs Makita XLC03. Both brushless, both around the same price. Anyone used both? Need something that'll handle drywall dust and coffee spills without dying.

I've got the Makita. It's a beast on fabric seats - the rubber nozzle is great for pet hair. BUT the filter clogs fast on fine dust. If you're doing drywall, get the DeWalt with the HEPA filter. Also, Makita's battery indicator lies to you.

I own both (don't ask). DeWalt has better suction on hard floors, Makita is quieter. The DeWalt's latch broke after 6 months tho - cheap plastic. Makita feels tougher. Tip: get the DeWalt if you need the blower function, Makita if you want a longer runtime.

Good points. How's the hose storage? My last one the hose was always floppin around. And does the Makita fit under a truck seat? Oh and what batteries you guys runnin - 3 or 5 amp?

Hose wraps tight on both. Makita stores better under seat - DeWalt's top heavy. I use 5ah on the Makita, get like 20 min continuous. Don't even bother with 3ah unless you're doing quick pickups.
