Hey all, quick safety tip. I was vacuuming out my truck today and realized I wasn't wearing a dust mask. That fine dust from dirt and brake dust can't be good for your lungs. Always wear at least an N95 when using a vac, especially in tight spaces. Anyone else have PPE tips for car detailing?

Good call, Rick! I always toss on safety glasses too cause stuff can fly back at you. And ear plugs if your vac is loud. I learned that the hard way after a ringing day lol.

Yeah, I heard brake dust contains asbestos or something nasty. I use a HEPA vac bag and a respirator. Also gloves if I'm cleaning up broken glass or sharp stuff. Better safe than sorry.

Felix, good point on the HEPA bag. I should upgrade mine. Any brand recommendations? I'm using a shop vac with a standard filter.

I use the Makita ones, they work great. But any brand that fits your vac and says HEPA should be fine. Just make sure to seal it well.
