Was at the big box store today and spotted a Dewalt cordless car vac on clearance, like $30 bucks. I know they usually go for like $80+. I'm a weekend warrior, use my tools for small projects around the house, but I don't have a dedicated car vac. Is it worth grabbing? Anyone used one?

If it's the DCV585 or something similar, grab it. I've got one in my truck, actually. For quick cleanups it's a beast. I use it for cleaning out my work van after drywall jobs. Battery life is decent though you'll want a 5Ah battery, not the 2Ah. At $30 it's a steal, even if you have to buy a battery separately. I'd say grab it before someone else does.

I've got the Milwaukee version, but they're all pretty similar. For $30, even if you only use it a few times a year, it's a no-brainer. I use mine mainly for cleaning sawdust out of my workshop and the car. Just don't expect it to replace a full-size shop vac for heavy duty stuff. But for quick pickups, totally worth it.

I'm with Mike on this. I was eyeing that same vac at my local store. It was $30 because it's a discounted color or something. I'm an apprentice and I've used my boss's Dewalt. It's solid. Make sure you use the right nozzle for tight spaces. Also, if you have other Dewalt tools, you can share batteries. Just an FYI, don't leave the battery in it when storing - it can drain. Learned that the hard way with my drill. But go for it.
