Just saw the article about the new Harbor Freight handheld vac. For $45 it seems like a steal, but I'm skeptical. Anyone here actually try it? I'm tired of hauling my big shop vac out to the driveway every time my truck looks like a disaster zone.

I picked one up last week. Honestly, the suction is decent for the price, but the filter clogs if you try to suck up anything bigger than a few crumbs. I had to stop and clean it out twice when I was doing the floor mats. If you're just doing quick touch-ups, it's fine, but don't expect it to replace a real vacuum.

I've been using mine for a couple of months now. It's got a little crevice tool that's great for getting into tight spots between the seats and the console. Not bad for the money, but I wish the battery lasted longer. I have to charge it after every two or three uses. Still beats dragging out the big one.

I was skeptical too, but I picked one up when I saw the deal. I've used it on a few old cars I'm restoring, and it's actually pretty handy for cleaning up the fine dust and debris before I start painting the interior. The filter isn't the greatest, but for $45, you can't complain. Just make sure you empty it often and clean the filter regularly.
