Hey guys, just picked up a cordless car vacuum from Home Depot, but after the first use it won't charge past 50%. Noticed the charger gets hot too. Is this normal or should I return it?

That doesn't sound normal. Have you tried a different outlet? Sometimes a flaky outlet can cause charging issues. Also, check the contacts on the battery and charger for dirt or debris.

I'd say return it. The charger getting hot is a red flag. I've seen batteries swell from bad chargers. Better to be safe than sorry. My experience: some cheap vacuums have thermal runaway problems.

I'll try cleaning the contacts first. But yeah, I'm leaning towards returning it. It's a pain though. Thanks for the advice guys.

No worries! Let us know how it goes. If you end up returning, I've been happy with my Ryobi car vac – just saying. 😉
