Hey everyone, just a quick reminder to wear ear protection when using a car vacuum, especially the high-powered ones. I spent an hour vacuuming my truck today and now my ears are ringing like crazy. Not fun. Invest in some cheap foam earplugs or earmuffs. Your hearing will thank you.

Good point Hank! I always wear ear muffs when using my shop vac, but for the car I usually just grab the handheld and go. Guess I should start using the muffs for that too. Any recommendations for comfortable ones that don't fog up my safety glasses?

I've got a pair of Howard Leight by Honeywell earmuffs that are pretty comfy and not too expensive. They don't interfere with my glasses. Also, I've seen those electronic ones that let you hear conversations but block out the loud noise - they're great for the shop, but maybe overkill for the car. Anyway, better safe than sorry!

I learned the hard way too. Used a wet/dry vac on a dingy car once without any ear pro and was hearing crickets for two days. Now I keep a box of earplugs in the glove box. Cheap insurance. Also, don't forget a dust mask if you're vacuuming a lot of dirt - that stuff gets airborne.

Good call on the dust mask too. I usually vacuum the interior and then blow out the cabin air filter. That's a dusty job. I'll pick up some earplugs and a pack of masks on my next run. Thanks folks!
