Hey folks, just got a new wet/dry vac for detailing my truck and realized I was breathing in a ton of dust and debris. What PPE do you all recommend? I was just using my regular safety glasses but thinking I need more.

Good call Hank! I learned the hard way after drywall dust got everywhere. For car vacs, I always wear an N95 mask - those fine particles from carpets and seats are no joke. Also, gloves if you're using any cleaning chemicals with it. My hands got raw from all the wiping last time!

Totally agree with Betty! I go full gear when doing deep cleans: N95 mask, nitrile gloves, and I even wear ear protection if I'm running the vac for more than 15 mins straight. Those things can get loud! Also, make sure you're in a well-ventilated area if you're using any interior cleaners.

Precision is key here. I use a P100 respirator instead of N95 - better seal and filtration for fine particulates. Safety glasses with side shields are mandatory (debris can come from unexpected angles). Also, check your vacuum's HEPA filter regularly - a clogged filter reduces suction and can blow particles back into the air. Proper maintenance is part of PPE too!

Wow, thanks everyone! Didn't even think about ear protection or the P100. Gonna upgrade my setup before my next detailing session. Stay safe out there!
