Hey all! Been using my DeWalt DCV580 for a few months now. Works great on car interiors. But I gotta say, wear earplugs! That thing is loud. I use the 3M Peltor ones. Anyone else got a favorite vac?

I rock the Rigid 4-gallon vac, but I gotta warn ya: get a good dust mask. Even if you're just sucking up dry crumbs, that fine dust will get ya. I prefer the 3M N95 respirator. Also, don't forget safety glasses when you're blowing out crud.

Word of caution: I once had a cheap vac that shot sparks into my eyes while vacuuming up metal shavings from a car repair. Now I always wear impact goggles. For the vac itself, I use a Milwaukee 0882-20 cordless. It's hella powerful.

Retired carpenter here. After years of sawdust, I can't stress ear protection enough. I use Howard Leight Ear Muffs, they're comfy. For a car vac, I got an old Shop-Vac that's been to hell and back. And remember: NEVER stick your hand in the intake!

Great point, Sarah! Forgot about that. I've seen too many guys try to clear a clog without unplugging. Also, if you're using a wet/dry vac, be careful with the cord around water. I use a GFCI extension cord just in case.
