Hey guys, I'm trying to decide between the Dewalt 60v and Makita 36v chainsaws for limbing around my property. I've heard Dewalt has more torque, but Makita is lighter. Anyone have real-world experience with both?

I've run both. The Dewalt definitely has more grunt, but it's also heavier and the chain tensioning is annoying. The Makita is smoother and the bar oil adjuster is way easier to use. If you're doing precision cuts, Makita all the way.

Idk, I have like 20 Makita tools so I'm biased lol. But my Makita chainsaw has been solid for years. That X2 system is nice cause you can use two 18v batts. Dewalt's 60v is fine too, but their batteries are overpriced.

Thanks for the input! I'm leaning towards Makita now, but I saw a deal on the Dewalt kit with two batts. Tough call.

I also have both. for limbing, the Makita is better because of the weight. But if you need to cut bigger logs, the Dewalt has more power. check the specs on chain speed too. Makita has a slower chain but more torque? idk.
