Hey everyone, I've got a DeWalt 60V chainsaw that's been working great for a year. Now the battery won't charge. I plug it in and the light stays red, never turns green. Anyone dealt with this before?

Common issue with those. Check the charging contacts on both the battery and charger. Sometimes they get dirty or bent. Use a Q-tip with rubbing alcohol to clean 'em. Also try a different outlet. If that don't work, it might be a dead cell in the battery.

I've had that happen. First thing I do is let the battery cool down completely. If it's hot, the charger won't charge it. Also, look for any bulging on the battery case. That's a sign of a bad cell. If it's swollen, replace it ASAP, it's a fire risk.

I agree with PlumberPaul, clean the contacts. Also, if you have another charger, try that. Could be the charger went bad. I've had a few chargers die on me. If it's still under warranty, DeWalt is pretty good about replacing them.

Don't forget to check if the battery is fully seated in the charger! I've done that before, felt dumb after. Also, try a hard reset: remove battery, unplug charger, wait 10 mins, plug back in, insert battery. Sometimes it resets the chip.
