Hey guys, need some help. I got a new DeWalt 60V chainsaw last week, used it once and it worked great. Now I go to charge the battery and nothing. The charger light comes on red for a second then goes off. The saw won't start. Any ideas? I'm a noob with these things.

Tim, check the battery terminals for dirt or corrosion. Also try another battery if you have one. Sometimes the charger can be finicky. If it's still under warranty, I'd reach out to DeWalt. Could be a bad battery cell. Had a similar issue with my 20V trimmer.

Yeah what Dan said. Also make sure the battery is fully seated in the charger. I've had that happen where it felt like it clicked but didn't. And if you got it at Home Depot, exchange it. They're good about that.

Thanks guys! I cleaned the terminals and made sure it was seated – still no luck. Gonna try swapping it at HD. Appreciate the help!

No problem, Tim. Let us know how it goes. BTW, if you get a new battery, don't store it dead. Keep it charged up for winter. These lithium batteries hate being flat.
