Hey guys, got a new 40V battery for my Ryobi chainsaw last week. Charged it once fine, now it won't take a charge. Plug it in, light is solid green for a second then goes out. Tried different outlets, same thing. Saw works with other battery so it's not the tool. Anyone seen this?

Classic symptom of a bad cell or BMS issue. If it's new, just exchange it under warranty. Don't waste time trying to fix it - these things are sealed.

Hold up! Before you do that, check the contacts on the battery and charger are clean. Sometimes a little dirt or oxidation can cause a false reading. Also, try leaving it on the charger for a few hours even if the light goes out. Mine did that once and came back to life.

Rick63 has a point. I've brought back several 'dead' Li-Ion batteries by doing a full discharge/recharge cycle. But if that doesn't work, def return it. Also, make sure you're not storing it fully charged or fully dead - that kills them faster.
