Just saw this article about Avista bracing for windstorms and power outages. Looks like we might get some nasty weather. Anyone else stockpiling gas and sharpening chains? Figured I'd ask the pros here what we should prep.

Yeah, I saw that too. I already filled up my gas cans and got extra chains. My old Husky 450 is ready to go. Just hope I don't have to use it much lol.

Good idea. I always keep a few spare chains sharp and some 2-cycle mix on hand. Also check your bar oil - nothings worse than running dry mid-cut. Stay safe out there!

Great tips Chris. I just sharpened my chain and topped off bar oil. Also picked up some wedges to prevent pinching. You guys ever use a winch for storm cleanup? Thinking about rigging one up.

Winch is overkill for me, but i can see it'd be handy for big trees. I mostly just use a rope and some muscle. But def keep saws ready - nothing sucks more than a downed tree at night without power!
