Interesting article. I've seen these guys out on the trails. They do great work but I always worry about safety when volunteers use chainsaws. Hope they have proper PPE and training. Thoughts on safety protocols?

I've been a volunteer with a local trail group for years. We get training and use proper gear. It's a great way to give back and get some saw time. Randy is a legend up there!

I've worked with volunteer crews. They're dedicated but sometimes lack experience. I've seen near misses. Should have mandatory certs like S-212 for wildland fire. But I admire their passion.

As a landscape architect, I see the impact of these volunteers. They keep trails open and safe. Proper training is key. Maybe we should push for more funding for gear and education.

Agreed on training. Also, they need reliable saws. Nothing worse than a saw that won't start when you're miles deep. Good on them for doing it.
