Hey everyone! I'm planning to build a 12x16 deck next month. I need a good drill for driving screws and maybe some light drilling. I'm on a budget, so what's the best cordless drill under $150? Any advice would be great!

I've been using a Ryobi 18V brushless drill for years, got it on sale for like $99 with a battery. It's got plenty of power for deck screws, and the batteries last a good while. Plus, the whole Ryobi line is expandable if you need other tools later. Can't beat it for the price.

Just a heads up - make sure you get a drill with a clutch, that's crucial for driving screws without stripping them. And if you're going budget, don't skimp on safety gear - grab some safety glasses and ear protection. I see folks skip that and it's not worth it. But yeah, check the clutch settings.

I'd also look into the SKIL 20V drill. It's around $100 and it's got a nice compact design, and the charger is fast. I've used it for building a shed and it held up fine. Also, if you can, get a second battery - nothing sucks more than running out mid-project.

Thanks guys! I'll check out the Ryobi and SKIL. Clutch is a good point, I'll make sure. And yeah, I'll grab some safety glasses. Appreciate the tips!
