Hey everyone, I'm planning to build a 12x16 deck in my backyard. I need a new drill for driving all those screws and maybe some light drilling into concrete for the ledger. Budget is around $200. What do you guys recommend? I've been looking at the DeWalt 20V Max XR or maybe a corded one for the heavy stuff.

I'd go with the DeWalt 20V Max XR hammer drill if you're doing concrete. That combo kit with the impact driver is a lifesaver for deck building. I've used it on dozens of decks. For under $200 it's a steal. Just get extra batteries.

If you don't mind corded, the Milwaukee 2601-20 is a beast and usually under $150. But for decks, I'd also suggest an impact driver. Makes driving those 3-1/2" screws a breeze. I used a Makita set last summer on a pergola and it was smooth sailing.

Thanks guys! I think I'll go with the DeWalt set. I have a few other 20V tools so the batteries will be compatible. Appreciate the help!
