Alright guys, I'm torn between the DeWalt DCD999 and the Makita XPH14Z for my next impact driver. I know both are top-tier, but I've heard the DeWalt has more torque while Makita is lighter. Any real-world experiences? I mostly do decking and framing.

I've got the Makita XPH14Z and love it. It's got plenty of power for framing, and the handle is super comfortable. Plus the built-in LED is a lifesaver in tight spots. Haven't tried the DeWalt tho. What's your take @GearHeadGary208?

I've had both. The DeWalt DCD999 is a beast for torque, no joke. I buried 3-1/2" screws into treated lumber without predrilling. But it's a little heavier and bulkier. If you're on a ladder all day, the Makita might save your wrist. Also, Makita's battery platform is more universal in my shop.
