Is this drill deal too good to be true?

Hey guys, just saw a crazy deal at my local hardware store - a DeWalt 20V MAX cordless drill/driver kit with two batteries and a charger for $99! I mean, that's like half the usual price. I'm tempted to grab it, but I'm wondering if there's a catch. Has anyone seen this deal or know if these are the older models? Should I pull the trigger?

Bob, if it's from a reputable store, it's probably a closeout or a holiday special. DeWalt does that sometimes to clear out stock before newer models come. I've picked up a few deals like that and never had issues. The 20V line is solid, even the older ones. For $99, I'd say grab it before someone else does. Just make sure it's not a 'brushed' motor if you care about that - but for general DIY, it's fine.

That is a sweet deal! I'm a DeWalt fanboy, so I hate to say this, but double-check the model number. Sometimes they have 'bare tool' deals that look like kits but only include one battery or something. If it truly comes with two batteries and a charger, that's a steal. I'd buy two if I were you, lol. Those batteries alone are worth $70 each.

As a Makita guy, I'm jealous, but that deal is too good to pass up. Even if you don't need it, you could resell it or keep as a backup. I'd say go for it. But quick question - is it brushless? The brushless versions are usually way more expensive. If it's brushless, you hit the jackpot.
