Just a friendly reminder to always wear your safety glasses when drilling. I learned the hard way yesterday – a metal shaving flew straight into my eye. Luckily I had glasses on, but it still scared the crap out of me. Anyone else have close calls?

Yikes, that's scary! I'm still a newbie, but I always wear my prescription glasses, and I thought that was enough. But my instructor told me I need actual safety glasses over them. Are there any good ones that fit over regular glasses?

Yeah, you need proper ANSI Z87.1 rated ones, and they make over-glass models. I've used those for years. Also, don't forget ear protection if you're using a hammer drill – that ringing is no joke.

Good point, Chris. I've got a pair of 3M over-glasses, they work great. And definitely ear muffs for the loud stuff. I always tell my crew: no gloves near spinning bits, but glasses are non-negotiable.

Thanks for the tips! I'm gonna pick up a pair of those over-glasses this weekend. Better safe than sorry, right?
