Anyone else double-checking their gloves for metal splinters?

Just had a close call today demoing an old deck. A rusty nail went through my gloves and barely missed my finger. 🧤 Make sure you're using cut-resistant gloves when handling old wood or metal lath! Stay safe out there.

ugh yeah, that's the worst. I actually switched to those mechanics gloves with the rubberized knuckles. They're not perfect but they stop most punctures. Also, I always do a quick 'glove gap check' before grabbing any scrap. Paranoia pays off.

I just use cheap leather gloves from Harbor Freight. If they get a hole I buy new ones. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Can't afford the fancy stuff.

IMO the biggest thing people forget is eye pro. I've had concrete chips bounce off my safety glasses more times than I can count. Hearing protection too - Tinnitus is for life. But yeah, gloves are important. I like the ones with the silicone dots on the palm for grip.
