Just saw this. # CDOT to narrow I-70 through Glenwood Canyon starting March 16. This is gonna be a pain for anyone hauling tools to job sites out west. I've got a few projects in Aspen coming up - might have to adjust my route or timing. Anyone else affected?

I remember when they did the Hanging Lake tunnel work. It was a mess for months. Glad I'm retired, don't have to deal with that daily commute no more. But for you guys still working, plan for extra time or find alternates like CO 82 over Independence Pass, though that's only open in summer.

Yeah, I drive that corridor weekly. The article says they're doing retaining wall work? Probably gonna be lane closures for a while. I'm thinking of stocking up on supplies before March 16 so I don't have to make as many trips. Anyone know if there's a detour for large trucks?

No official detour for trucks that I've heard. They'll probably just have single-lane alternating traffic. Might be a good time to invest in a good CB radio to get real-time updates from other drivers. I've got a Uniden that works great in the mountains.

Good call on the CB, Carl. I'll have to dig mine out. Also, maybe I'll shift my work hours to avoid peak times. The article says they're starting March 16 - wonder how long this phase lasts? If it's like the last project, we're looking at months of delays.
