Hey all, my 18V brushless driver (just over a year old) stopped taking a charge. Led blinks red/green when I put it on the charger. Tried different outlets, checked for corrosion on contacts, nothin'. Anyone seen this before? It's a Dewalt if that matters.

Sounds like a dead cell in the pack. I've had this happen on a couple older Makitas. If it's still under warranty, try that first. Otherwise, you can try 'jump starting' it with another charged battery if you have one - heard that can revive them sometimes, but it's a long shot. Might just need a new battery.

Before you toss it, check the BMS (battery management system) board. Moisture or impact can fry it. I've opened a few packs and resoldered broken connections. If you're comfortable with a multimeter, test the voltage at the terminals. If it's 0V or way below nominal, the cells are likely toast. Also, make sure the battery isn't too hot - hot batteries won't charge.

Thanks guys. I'll check the warranty first, seems like the easiest bet. If that's out, I might crack it open if I'm feelin' brave. Dave, I'll try the jump start trick too, but Felix, you got me thinkin' - never bothered with a multimeter, maybe it's time. Appreciate the help!
