Hey everyone, just stumbled across a local ad for a Milwaukee M18 Fuel 1/4" hex impact driver (model 2853-20) with two 5.0Ah batteries and a charger for only $199. It's listed as 'like new' with minimal use. I've been eyeing this model for a while but usually see it around $300+ for the kit. Should I jump on this or is there something fishy here? The seller says it was a gift he never really used.

Whoa, that's a killer price if legit! I'd ask for more pics first - especially of the battery contacts and tool wear. Sometimes 'like new' means 'dropped once but works fine' lol. Also check if the batteries are genuine Milwaukee - there are knockoffs out there. If everything checks out, I'd say go for it. That's less than what I paid for my DeWalt bare tool last year!

Professional opinion: The M18 Fuel is a beast. We've got three on our crew and they've survived 2+ years of daily abuse. At that price, even if the batteries are halfway worn, you're still winning. Ask for a video of it driving some screws - if the seller hesitates, walk away. Also check the serial number against Milwaukee's warranty database to make sure it's not stolen. Meet in a public place with an outlet to test it!

Dude, I bought that exact kit last month for $279 and thought I scored! If it's real, grab it NOW. The 2853 has the newer brushless motor and the 5.0 batteries last forever. One thing - make sure the charger is the rapid charger (M18/M12), not the slow one. And check if the anvil has any play when you pull the collet. Let us know how it goes!
