Hey guys, just wanted to share a quick safety tip. I was driving some screws into hardwood with my impact driver yesterday and a bit slipped, sending a chunk of wood flying. Luckily I had my safety glasses on, but it got me thinking - how many of you actually wear PPE when using drivers? I know it's easy to skip, but seriously, it takes one split second to lose an eye.

Preach! I always wear my safety glasses, even for quick jobs. I had a buddy who got a metal shard in his eye from a stripped screw - needed surgery. Not worth it. Also, ear protection if you're doing a lot of driving - those impacts are loud.

Thanks for the reminder! I'm still learning and sometimes forget to put on my safety glasses when I'm in a rush. Does anyone have a good brand that doesn't fog up? I hate when they fog and I end up taking them off.

You should check out 3M or Dewalt anti-fog ones. I've used them for years. And yeah, always wear them. I had a close call with a broken screw head once, flew right past my face. If I hadn't been wearing glasses, it would've been bad. Stay safe people!

Good call on the anti-fog, Paul. Sarah, another tip - if you're wearing a mask, make sure it fits well under your glasses to reduce fogging. Also, keep a spare pair in your toolbox, so you have no excuse not to wear them!
