Hey folks, just wanted to share a quick safety reminder. Saw a guy on a job site yesterday using an impact driver without safety glasses - not smart! Always wear eye protection, especially with those high-torque drivers. A flying screw or debris can do serious damage. What's everyone else using for PPE when working with drivers?

Great topic Rick! I'm pretty religious about safety glasses - got a nice DeWalt pair that are comfy for long sessions. Also wear gloves when doing heavy driving, helps with grip and vibration. Question though: do you guys think hearing protection is necessary for occasional driver use? My wife says I should wear ear pro but it feels like overkill for putting up shelves...

Rick's right - seen too many close calls over the years. Dan, to your question: YES on hearing protection! Even occasional use adds up. I've got mild tinnitus from 40 years of ignoring that advice. These days I use my Makita ear muffs for everything - they're light and don't get in the way. Also recommend a dust mask if you're drilling into drywall or masonry.

Mike's spot on about hearing protection. Pro tip: get electronic muffs that let you hear conversations but block harmful noise. They're worth every penny. Also, don't forget proper footwear - steel toes if you're dropping heavy tools or materials. And Dan, tell your wife she's right! Safety's never overkill.

Thanks guys! Guess I'm shopping for ear protection this weekend. Appreciate the wisdom - better safe than sorry. My neighbor actually got a metal shard in his eye last year from a drill bit breaking, so I'm definitely keeping the safety glasses on. Stay safe out there!
