Hey guys, my Makita 18V grinder battery stopped charging after I dropped it a few feet. The charger shows green like it's full but the tool doesn't run. Any ideas? I already tried cleaning the contacts.

Classic drop damage. Probably a broken internal connection. Pop the case open and check for loose wires. If not, the BMS board might be fried.

I had a similar issue with a DeWalt battery. Turned out one of the cells was out of balance. Try leaving it on the charger for a few hours, see if it balances itself.

Don't waste time. If it's dropped, the cell tabs can break. Cut your losses and buy a new battery. Not worth the fire risk from a DIY repair if you don't know what you're doing.

Thanks all. I'll pop it open but if it looks sketchy I'll just get a new one. Appreciate the input!
