Angle grinder disc blew up on me - wear your PPE!

Hey guys, just a friendly reminder to always wear your PPE when using grinders. I was cutting some metal yesterday and my disc exploded. Luckily I had my face shield and gloves on, but it scared the crap out of me. Stay safe out there.

Good reminder Dan. I always wear a full face shield, ear plugs, and heavy gloves. Also make sure the guard is on and the speed rating matches your grinder. Seen too many accidents from cheap discs.

Glad you're ok! I had a similar experience last year. I was using a worn down wire wheel and it flew apart. Hit my arm but my jacket saved me. Now i always inspect discs before use and replace if there's any cracks or wear.

Thanks guys. I think i'll invest in a better face shield too, mine has some scratches. Any recommendations for a good one? I do a lot of grinding and cutting.
