Hey all, was using my angle grinder with a cutting wheel yesterday and a chunk of wheel flew off and hit my cheek. Glad I had safety glasses on but now I'm thinking about getting a face shield too. What PPE do you guys rock when using grinders?

Face shield is a must man. I learned the hard way too. I use a full face shield AND safety glasses underneath. Also, always check the RPM rating on the wheel vs. your grinder. Had a friend learn that one the hard way.

Definitely get a face shield, but also invest in some good gloves - not the thick welding ones, but something dexterous. And if you're grinding metal, respiratory protection is key. That dust is nasty.

I use a 3M half-face respirator with P100 filters, safety glasses, and a hard hat with a face shield for heavy duty stuff. Got a nice set of impact gloves too. Overkill maybe, but my eyes and hands are worth it.
