Hey guys, planning to build a deck this summer. Need a grinder for cutting steel brackets and maybe some concrete patches. Budget around $100. Corded is fine. What do you recommend?

For that price, just grab a Ryobi or a Skil. They go on sale for like $50-60. I've used my Ryobi for years. Not the best but gets the job done. Don't waste money on expensive ones if you're not using it daily.

C'mon Paul, you can get a DeWalt DWE402 for under $100 and it's a beast. I've cut through rebar and concrete with mine. It's got a 10A motor, dust ejection, and it lasts. Spend a bit more and you'll thank me later. Don't cheap out on tools.

I'm with Dan on this one. If you're cutting metal brackets, you want something with power. DeWalt or Makita. I use a Makita 9557PB at work (HVAC) and it handles everything. But if you're really on a budget, Harbor Freight has a Bauer for $40. It'll work for a deck project.

Thanks guys. I think I'll go with the DeWalt DWE402. I'd rather spend a bit more and have it last. Appreciate the advice!
