Just saw this article about cocoa prices going up and down. I thought this was a power tools forum? Anyway, I guess commodity prices affect everything, even our tools? Maybe the steel in our saw blades is affected by cocoa? lol. But seriously, anyone else think this is weird?

Haha Pete, you're right, but maybe it's a sign of inflation. Everything's going up, including my shop costs. I'm all for consolidation if it means prices stabilize. But I don't see how cocoa relates to my table saw. Unless we're making chocolate-covered tools now?

I've seen this before. Commodity prices can be wild. But I'm more concerned about the cost of copper and PVC these days. Cocoa is a drop in the bucket compared to plumbing materials. Anyway, maybe this is a good time to stock up on tools if prices drop?

I read the article too. It says exports are up, which might mean higher demand. But then prices consolidate, so maybe it's a bubble? I'm not an economist, but I'd rather spend my money on a new angle grinder than on chocolate. Though a chocolate-flavored grinder might be tasty... just kidding!
