Hey guys, I'm torn between the DeWalt DCG413B and the Makita XAG17Z. I do a lot of metal cutting and grinding, sometimes 8+ hours a day. Which one holds up better? Any experience with either?

I've used both on the job site. The Makita has a bit more power and the paddle switch is nicer. But the DeWalt feels more balanced. Makita tends to run hotter in my experience. For heavy use, maybe the Makita because of the variable speed.

I agree, Makita for heavy use. But don't overlook the trigger lock on DeWalt, some guys prefer that. I'd say get whichever fits your hand better. Also check the warranty, Makita has 3 years.

Thanks guys. I tried both in store and Makita felt better. Gonna go with that. Appreciate the advice!
