Found a killer deal on a grinder - too good to be true?

So I was browsing clearance at my local hardware store and spotted a DeWalt 4-1/2" angle grinder for $39.99, originally like $99! It's the DCG412B (bare tool) and I've been needing one for some light metal work. Seems like a steal, but is it too good to be true? Anyone used this model before?

That's a solid price! I've got the brushless version of that, but the DCG412 is still a beast for the money. It's not brushless, but for occasional use it'll last you. I'd say grab it before someone else does. Just check the seals and the cord, sometimes clearance items are returns. But at that price, even if it's a floor model, it's worth it.

Make sure you inspect it for any damage, and DON'T buy it if the guard or the safety switch is messed up. Also, since it's bare tool, you'll need a battery and charger if you don't have 'em. That can add to the cost. But $40 is a steal, I'd get it if it passes the eye test. And remember, always wear safety glasses and a face shield when you use it!

Yeah, I already have a couple of 20V batteries from other DeWalt tools, so that's not an issue. The guard looked intact, and it spun up fine when I tested it in the store. I think I'm gonna pull the trigger. Thanks for the input, guys!

Nice! Post a pic when you get it. And don't forget to break it in with some scrap metal first. Happy grinding!
