Hey folks, stumbled upon a DeWalt DWE402 4-1/2" angle grinder for only $49 at a pawn shop. Looks brand new, still has the plastic on the handle. Is it worth picking up? I know DeWalt usually goes for around $80-100. Any known issues with that model?

Great find! The DWE402 is a solid grinder. I've restored a few of those - the main thing to check is the spindle lock and the brushes. For $49, it's a steal if it works. Even if it needs a little TLC, parts are cheap.

Before you buy, make sure the guard is included and that the trigger lock works. Also check the cord for any cuts. Safety first! But yeah, that's a sweet deal if it's all there.

I wish I could find deals like that! I'm still using a cheapo Harbor Freight grinder. Do you think it's worth upgrading? How much better is the DeWalt actually?
