Hey folks, was at the hardware store today and saw a DeWalt 4.5" angle grinder marked down to $49.99 from $129. Said it was a floor model but looks brand new. Box was a bit beat up but all parts there. Anyone have experience with these? Seems like a steal but wondering if there's a catch...

Tim, before you buy ANY grinder, check the safety features. Does it have a deadman switch? Proper guard? At that price, might be missing key components. Also - floor models get handled by everyone. Test the trigger and make sure the spindle lock works. No deal is worth losing fingers over.

I've had that exact model for 2 years! Paid full price and zero regrets. Cuts through metal like butter and the paddle switch is nice. For $50? Jump on it dude. Even if it lasts half as long as mine, you're ahead. Just wear your PPE - Gary's right about safety.

DeWalt makes solid tools but honestly at that price I'd be suspicious. Their factory refurbs go for more than that. Might be an older model or missing accessories. I'd save up for a new-in-box Milwaukee - their grinders have better dust sealing. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Thanks all! Went back and bought it. Guard was there but loose - tightened the screws and it's fine. Trigger feels crisp. Gary147 - it does have the safety switch. Gary952 - it's the current model according to the SKU. For my weekend projects this should be perfect. Appreciate the input!
