Hey folks, having a weird issue with my 18V cordless grinder. The battery just stopped charging overnight - no lights on the charger, nothing. It was working fine yesterday. Tried different outlets, cleaned the contacts, but no luck. Anyone run into this before? It's a 2-year-old model from a decent brand.

Which brand? If it's the one I'm thinking of (starts with M), their batteries have a 3-year warranty. Call their support - they're awesome about replacements. I've had two batteries replaced no questions asked. In the meantime, check if the charger itself is getting warm - if not, might be a dead charger.

ugh battery tools... this is why I stick with corded for grinders. Tile dust kills those batteries fast. Hank, try leaving the battery off the charger for a day then try again. Sometimes they get 'confused'. Also, any odd smells from the battery or charger? Could be a fried circuit.

I had similar with my drill battery last month! Turned out to be the charger's fuse - tiny little thing inside the plug. If you're comfortable, open the charger casing (UNPLUGGED!) and check the fuse. Mine was just slightly blackened. $2 fix at the hardware store.

Thanks all! Gary - it's actually not that brand (it's a P-brand), but I'll check the warranty. Wendy - good call on the fuse, I'll check that tonight. Sid - no weird smells, but I'll let it sit like you suggested. Appreciate the help - will update tomorrow!
