Saw this on the news, thought you guys might have thoughts. # Arrow 10x14-Foot Select Galvanized Steel Storage Shed for $550 + pickup. For homeowners and landscaping enthusiasts, the organization and protection of equipment is just as critical as the maintenance... Need a shed for my mower and trimmer. Worth it?

I've installed a few of these Arrow sheds. For $550, that's a fair price but don't expect it to last forever. The galvanized steel is thin - you'll want to anchor it well and maybe add some extra bracing if you're in a windy area. Good for storing light equipment, but I wouldn't put a riding mower in there. Floor's just particle board, so consider adding plywood over it.

I'm on a tight budget, so $550 sounds good to me. But like DrillMaster said, you'll probably need to drop another $100-150 on a proper foundation (gravel or concrete pad) and maybe some sealant for the floor. Still cheaper than a wood shed. Check your local codes too - some places require permits for sheds over 120 sq ft.

I'm a brand loyalist when it comes to sheds - Tuff Shed all the way. Arrow is okay for the price, but I've heard the hardware is cheap and the instructions are terrible. You get what you pay for. If you can stretch your budget, spend a bit more on a decent wood shed that'll last 20+ years. This one might get you 5-7 years before rust shows.

As a contractor, I've put up dozens of these for clients on a budget. They work fine for storage if assembled correctly. The key is to use a drill with hex bits for the self-tapping screws, and add extra sealant at the roof seams. Skip the included floor and build a pressure-treated platform instead. For $550, it's a solid value for a temp or medium-term solution.
