Hey guys, I'm planning to build a 12x16 deck next month. I need a good circular saw for cutting 2x6s and deck boards. I've got a budget of around $200. What do you recommend? I'm a beginner so something easy to use would be great.

Go with a Makita 5007MG magnesium saw. Lightweight, powerful, and the build quality is insane. I've had mine for 10 years without a single issue. Yeah it's over your budget but you won't regret it. Trust me.

Honestly, for a deck build, any decent worm-drive saw will do. I'd check out the Skilsaw SPT67WM-22. It's a classic for a reason. Plenty of power and you can get it for around $180. Plus it's got that awesome cutline blower.

DeWalt all the way. Get the DWE575SB. It's a 7-1/4 inch with a brake, electric brake is a lifesaver. $150 on Amazon right now. I've built three decks with mine. Cuts like butter and the seen-through shoe is great for dust control.
