DeWalt vs Makita for a new lawn mower - which would you pick?

Hey everyone, looking to upgrade my old push mower and stuck between DeWalt and Makita. I've got a small suburban yard, about 1/4 acre. I like that DeWalt has that 60V FlexVolt system - seems powerful. But Makita's dual battery setup looks smart for runtime. Anyone have experience with either brand for lawn care? I'm leaning electric over gas this time.

I've got the Makita 36V mower! Bought it last spring. Honestly, it's been great for my weekend projects. The batteries swap with my drill and impact driver, which is super convenient. Cuts nice, not too heavy. Only thing - if your grass gets really thick/wet, it can bog down a bit. But for normal mowing, no complaints. DeWalt might have more raw power tho?

Professionally, I see more DeWalt on job sites, but that's for drills/saws. For mowers, it depends. DeWalt's 60V will handle tougher conditions better - if you let the grass go long or have uneven terrain. Makita is smoother for regular maintenance. Check battery costs too - DeWalt's 60V batteries aren't cheap. What's your budget, Will?

Thanks both! Budget is around $500-$600. Wendy, that battery compatibility is a big plus - I already have some Makita 18V tools. Paul, good point about the terrain - my yard is pretty flat, but I do have one bumpy section. Maybe Makita is the way since I'm already in their ecosystem. Anyone know about warranty/service differences?

Makita's warranty was 3 years when I bought, but double-check current models. Their service center is 30 min from me, which helped. DeWalt might be similar. If you already have Makita batteries, I'd say go for it - saves you buying into a new battery system. Just keep the blade sharp and don't let the grass get too tall!
