Hey all, I'm in the market for a new cordless lawn mower and I'm torn between DeWalt and Makita. I've got a small yard, about 1/4 acre, and I already have some Makita tools. But I've heard great things about DeWalt's new mowers. Anyone have experience with either? Looking for something that'll last.

I've used both brands extensively in my restoration work, and honestly, for lawn mowers, I'd lean Makita. Their 18V mowers are beasts, and the batteries are interchangeable with their other tools. But DeWalt is no slouch either. If you're already invested in Makita, stick with it. No point in having two battery platforms.

I'm a weekend warrior, and I've got a DeWalt 20V mower. It's been great for two seasons now. Cuts well, battery lasts about 45 minutes, which is perfect for my yard. But I've also used my neighbor's Makita, and it felt a bit more premium. Honestly, you can't go wrong. Just check the warranty and weight.

Not directly about mowers, but I have a Makita string trimmer and blower. They've held up for years. I'd say go with whatever brand your other tools are. You'll save money on batteries and chargers. Plus, if you ever need to borrow a battery from another tool in a pinch, you're set.

Thanks for the input, guys. I think I'll stick with Makita since I already have the batteries. Plus, the local shop has a deal on the 18V mower right now. Appreciate the help!
