Just a friendly reminder to always wear your ear protection when using a gas mower or any loud yard equipment. I know it seems like a pain, but hearing loss is no joke. I've been mowing for years without it and now I have a constant ringing in my ears (tinnitus). Wish someone had warned me back then. Stay safe out there!

Great point, Chris! I always double up with earplugs AND over-ear muffs when running the leaf blower. It's like a jet engine! Also, don't forget safety glasses. I got a rock to the eye once from a weed eater. Trust me, you don't want that.

Tell me about it. I've got a collection of vintage mowers and some of those old engines are LOUD. Even with ear pro, I can feel the vibration in my chest. For those looking for a quieter option, electric mowers are a game changer. But still, wear ear protection even with those.

As a pro, I see too many homeowners skipping the PPE. I've been doing this for 20 years and I always wear ear muffs, safety glasses, and a dust mask when needed. It's not just about hearing – prolonged exposure to vibration from mowers and trimmers can cause white finger disease. Take breaks and stretch too. Your body will thank you.

Good advice everyone. And Tim, never heard of white finger disease – gonna look that up. Better safe than sorry. Let's all make Saturday mowing a safe mowing!
